Poet or not, Oscar still likes to write in prose and verse a lot. It’s no Shakespeare, but you might enjoy these.

The other day I was spouting random seeds of wisdom, that Courtney coined “golden nuggets” … enjoy! Oh, and I hope you enjoy my friend Hurly here …Indecision leads to missed opportunity. No one will think of you as a women until you acknowledge yourself as one. What she lacks in determination, she makes up for in non-committal.Your bad choices can only lead to worst results. If God is my constant, you are the variable.Customization is the first ...

Here’s a little Illustration Friday piece that started out as a simple pencil sketch, got revisited with tracing paper and markers, partially colored with Prismas, then scanned, compiled and finished in Photoshop.“If God is the constant in my life, then, my love, you are the variable.Without you, it is possible I’d have visited less valleys, but assuredly, with you, I have seen that many more peaks. Our love is an intricate mess, one I wouldn’t trade for any other ...

Over a wonderfully tasty lunch of Sonny’s hamburgers (oh, yes … they are the best!), Courtney, Jimision and I had some fun with what we first called “bunch of’s” and “grouping terms”, then later found out were actually collective nouns. Here are the ones we came up with … a few of which are a bit unorthodox ;) :Napkin 1a murder of crowsa herd of sheepa hive of villanya pod of whalesa flock of geesea ...

Seeking release,he stands upon a self-made precepice.Digging his heelsinto a soft-set sand that never fits. Here is a boy,not striving and nor is his aim for “man”;there is not a swayand rare a concern in way of your planHis goal not ready, nor can it be found or called to be steady.Disappointed by manyand frankly has lost all care and love for them or any.His remorse is as it be;swift and fleeting and say fair to call ...

I’ve had the words of a song I heard at Status last week stuck in my head for awhile, and after shaking around in my head a bit, this wallpaper is what they turned into. I hope you enjoy, and for those interested, here are my notes from the speaker that night.

I don’t trust myself to sleep.Haunted by memories threaded in so deep.I see a face; a face I have never know, but one so lovely and dear, I continually yearn to own.She is a beauty, in vice and appeal, speaking words my dreams folly to reveal. The attraction by which she lures, I do not understand.Abounding wonderfulness that would stifle any man.I may not remember her or you or this place in time.Though the walls are familiar, as ...

Pod Wall (uploaded by DRA Studio)Eric’s anxiousness to see the sketch I drew during today’s sermon inspired me to work up this piece. I went ahead and uploaded the original photo I took, in case you want to play the “Boy’s Life” game of spotting what is different. ;) Enjoy. He powers up and starts his day;a few others, in tow, follow his way.He thinks: “The day will end as the rest” “Empty, lonely … defeated, ...

Squiggly worms (uploaded by DRA Studio)Squiggly worms, given to and shaping in anover-abundance of glee;though warted, hairy and toothed ishow they tend to be.Their wisdom is strong, and though I want it much, the skin they share, I truely fear to touch.“Stay your distance and keep your way!“Just shout your wordsand I’ll continue my day.”

IF : Hoard (uploaded by DRA Studio)I forgot to finish this post in time to add it to the Illustration Friday archive, but I hope you still enjoy the napkin sketch and this bit of rhyme. They amass upon the cliffs, seeking to find an sustaining ledge. In pursuit of a welcoming host, their fall upon him is swift.Dark is their interest, deep is their intent. From within the bellows, they are seeking and are yet to be content.

It’s two in the morning, she didn’t wait up.I’d rather be sleeping, but instead I’ll be tough.I am so very tired, feeling entirely mired. Not really be life or things gone wrong, but mainly as one with cheek to tongue.I’ll think I should go code now, design something pretty. This has just been a brief intermission,a “time-is-passing” ditty.

By my rough estimate and understanding, the term “fatawa” is intended to refer to the Islamic rulings on a contemporary question or inquiry that cannot be directly answered by a verse in the Qur’an. It seems to be the attempt of the Islamic faith to provide for their devote people a way to fully understand and abide by the rules and regulations given to them by Allah, in spite of the fact that culture, ...

I am in the process of updating the Illustrative site and I found some old copy that I never implemented … kinda sad and still fun:Wet iPod fundOn the early Friday morning of April 7th, 2006, my dearly loved and cherished iPod Nano (4 GB, 1st Generation) was lost forever in the mirky abyss of laundry detergent and foamy suds.Though it struggled for life and fought to maintain consciousness, its fate was sealed with 3 ...

I am wounded with much injure, due in fault to my own perjury. With this day’s new dawn,my wound is open, anew … and now, un-gone.I have dreamed a lover’s dream, one of hope and peace serene. It was filled with love and its desires,a past pushed to forgetful mires. It hurts and pains to dwell on you;you, that fleeting doe on morning’s dew.Dreams have glimpsed to ending solitude, but in truth, it is false hope imbued.I though of you and ...

In the rushing wind and gentle breeze, you speak to me, O Lord.At the rustle of the autumn leaves,I know you are with me.In the bathing warm of sunlight,I feel your watch over me.Your presence gives me calmand I am free.

Quandary – Bite a Zombie (uploaded by DRA Studio)So here’s the question at hand … What happens when you bite a zombie?Everyone knows the simple facts about zombies; that if you are bitten by a zombie, you become a zombie. If you want to kill a zombie you must destroy its brain. And if you want to keep your brains, you must kill zombies. Got it. Done. Reactive policy confirmed. Now what say we play ...

So I am starting a new tag section here at the Sketch Blog, and I am calling it “quandary”. This will be for those posts where I will bring to you the reader some of the many curious life-altering wonderings I come across in my day-to-day.Most will be frivolous in nature and they all with be completely void of real meaning, but my saying so is by no means permission for you to not base ...

I just love drawing monsters. Scraggely teeth. Hairy arms. Zombie eyes. Bald heads ... oh wait. Maybe that is just my monsters. Either way ... they always make me smile.
So why is our friend here so "grizzly"? Is it his demeanor? His physical disposition? Interesting, isn't? I mean, on one hand, he looks pretty angry and about ready to just chew off your left leg because you beat him again in Mario Kart. Then again ...

Today was another great day of accomplished tasks ... among which was the New Creation poster (check out the Flickr sidebar!). Karati-gami at d-groups went really well ... even if I did make Jen mad at me for a bit. ;) I am now well on my way to getting those thousand origami cranes so I can have my wish.
After Southside band practice, Jen and I worked on this desktop wallpaper together ... not to ...
