It is time again for the monthly DFP discussion on icons. My über example today ended up being this lovely tribute to Kodak's belated Kodachrome plastic slide mounts. It's kinda crazy that these were still being widely used just back in the 1990s.

The icon should be available soon from the nice GraphicRiver folks, in both the hinged and notch variety.

So, you may ask … what was in the box? Well, not only did Jess send my new camera, a Canon S5 IS (EEEEeeee!!), and accessories and our new wireless Wii Sensor bar, but she also added in a few of other fun extras … including new camera bags for both Jodie and I. She’s the best, am I right?

Needless to say, I took most of the day off from work to play with the new camera and start working my way through the manual and trying to understand all the lens and such. Don’t worry … I’ll be posting photos very very soon!

Oh and if you own a Mac or an iPhone and aren’t using Mike Piontek’s slick Delivery Status applications to track your online shipments … you should be. Simple UI, beautiful graphics and wireless package syncing … it is just common sense.

Where normally I wouldn’t be able to take some of the spur of the moment shots I like without looking like a big camera tot’ing nerd, I’ve always got my iPhone with me and now, thanks to Apple, I canz pretend to be hip! Silly, I know.
