Google IO Wallpaper

This afternoon I got a chance to watch Day 2 of Google's IO Developer Event (the Android Keynote, in particular) and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed. Not only was it great to see such a strong commitment from Google toward an open platform that is working to strongly support Flash, but the sheer momentum of their device and user-adoption numbers was enough to have me wondering about Android-based iPhone alternatives (e.g. the sweet looking EVO).

After all was said, done and Vic Gundorta had finished taking stabs at Apple (and I had heard some Mac fanboy responses) , I definitely find myself among those interested to see how Apple responds in a few weeks at WWDC, where we will hopefully see a next-gen iPhone announcement. For now though, enjoy this Google IO wallpaper that I whipped up really quick like, because I love the vibrant simplicity of Google's branding for this event.

I don't know about you, but I've had a Google Wave account for more than a few weeks now and I still have yet to figure out what to do with it. I mean, I saw the amazing Developer Preview from the Google I/O event, but without any immediate collaborative needs or really any contacts ...
Google Chrome on the Mac
It has been a few days now since Ars Technica announced Google's Developer Preview for Chrome on the Mac and I have been loving every minute of it. While I do miss the robust plugin architecture of Firefox and the slickness of Safari 4's "Top Sites", Chrome's speed trumps all. New tabs and windows are quick ...

Due to so many malicious attacks on MT's servers lately, I've been having to check lots of client sites for malicious code and in the process, I've found Google's Webmaster Tools and their Safe Browsing Diagnostic Page to be wonderfully helpful. It is kinda of cumbersome having to keep the Safe Browsing URL around and prepend ...

It is that time of year again! We've moved past the initial NYE resolutions and the fresh feeling the winter solstice brings and now it is up to us individually to clean things up and push forward with resolve. This of course includes the obligatory OS X re-install (coming soon) as well as removing outdated ...
A thing of fiction …
I think I mentioned this in an older comment somewhere, but it was such a great feeling and connection of neuroses when I was able to find an old sci-fi movie I vaguely remember watching as a kid ... based solely on a few scattered impressions and terms searched for via Google. I was reminded ...
