Two for Tuesday

Posted on Tuesday, May 9th, 2006 under News | No comments

Today ended a bit better than yesterday, thanks to hanging out with Elliott and Tyler after work. We went to Chick-fil-A for dinner, and while there, we were entertained by a David Blane wannabe ... no, I am not kidding you. He was a bonfide all-I-do-for-a-living-is-magic guy. So silly.
After that we hung out for a while until we decided to head over to Whataburger for some milkshakes, which of course was a good time.

While at Tyler's apartment, I learned about a few really cool sites:

Flip4Mac WMV Player - This allows you to watch WMV (Windows Media files) directly in Quicktime. Not too shabby.

Dodgeit.com - You know those annoying websites that ask you to put in an e-mail address before you can view a certain page or download a PDF? Well, Dodgeit helps you get past that by letting you use its e-mail domian for such menial (and possibly spam-related) tasks. Give it a try ... it really is cool.

Last.fm - So you like music, huh? But you want to find more bands that sound like those you already like, right? Last.fm is here to help! It is a Web 2.0 app that asks what music you're currently listening to and then it randomly streams and plays music from artists it thinks you might like. Works pretty good too.
