Robot in the Trees

So not only was my recent trip to Goodwill an enormous success because of the BRAND NEW (!!!) Hawk Nelson CD I got for $2.99, but also because of the paint canvas I used to create this beauty.

My first every acrylic on canvas (all my other stuff has been on paper, cardstock, poster board, wood, etc.), this was really fun. I worked up the color study/sketch and then went to it on the real thing. I started around 7-ish and was done around 12 ... not too shabby. And as you can see, it is pretty close to the original sketch, with just a few minor differences (Matt, I added that hinged jaw just for you, man!).

I hope you enjoy ... I know I did. I'd offer this for sale, but I like it and besides, who would really want to buy it? I mean, besides your mom. ;)

Also, if you are interested, I was inspired in my concept for this by the work of Bloo Empire. Keeley Carrigan's work is so amazing.

And here is a great little article on acrylic painting, for all that are interested.

Fancy prints are available!
