Seven!

Posted on Tuesday, October 11th, 2005 under Sketches | No comments

That's right. A number that stands oddly alone. A number nearest to his friend six, but still wanting to hang out with big sis' eight.

Ok. So I had seen the episode of Smallville a bunch of times before and needed to distract myself. Solution? Paper, markers and color pencils! (Take note: I use #97 Bright White, 24 lb. printing paper, which you can buy at Staples, and only Crayola colors).

Whadda ya think?

For what his face lacks in expression, his shadow and highlights in color make up for in definition. The blending of the markers and pencils together came out really nice. The only Photoshop touchup I did was to correct a problem I had with one of the browns. In some places, his skin shadow areas were bright red ... due to the fact that I accidentally grabbed the wrong marker at one point. But, no harm done.

Oh, and I like his shirt, too.

Type Blend Icon – Preview
The lovely geometric type icon I made during the DFP Lecture today. The icon is entirely vector, which was really difficult to achieve with the color blending of the ...

Daily Sketch – Sweater
This is just a quick daily sketch for Friday ... me in a new shirt and sweater to watch Jodie's performance in FCC's Night of Noel. I apologize for the rough lines ... I'm still getting back into the habit of drawing all the time. ;) I actually had to repeat the colors a few times ...
