Star Wars : Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005)

5 out of 5 geeky lightsaber duelsDirected by George Lucas

(pst ... feel free to read this even if you haven't seen the movie ... I won't give away any good stuff)

Leaving the Universal Studios Muvico 21 theatre (at close to 3:00am early Thursday morning), all I could say at first was "Wow." After a few moments of silence, I was able to compose myself enough to join the excited banter of Adam, Jodie and Nessa. "Unbelievable." "Amazing." "Definitely better than the first two (I & II)." "Holy crap."

Though touted as the darker of all 6 movies (and rightfully so ... I mean we are talking about the beginning of Darth Vader here!), this is unmistakably my favorite. Between Anakin's fall from grace (and the inevitable clashes of power that ensue) and the visual dynamics of almost every aspect of the film ... this one is a keeper. There was hardly a moment when I was not enthralled with the story ... granted, with a screen that is 6 & 1/2 stories high and 98 feet wide, who wouldn't be?

What I have been telling everyone is that if you are a fan of the original 3 movies (IV, V, & VI) you are gonna want to see Revenge of the Sith. The story-line tie-ins and little nostalgic subtleties are so numerous, you will think you have stepped back into 1977.

Here are some photos of the night.

Enjoy and let me know what you think.

By the way, my biggest contention of interest right now is what to do when it's time for my future kids to watch Star Wars ... should they see the movies in the order I saw them (IV, V, VI, and then I, II, III)? Or should they enjoy them as originally ordered by George Lucas? A parental dilemma indeed.

Day #13 – Library
Just like when we were growing up as kids and spent our Saturdays at the BCC Library looking for great movies, music and books, I still frequently find myself perusing the shelfs here in Kissimmee. There is nothing like wandering between those weathered pages and stickered CDs … nothing like enjoying the feeling of discovering ...

The dangling entrails of more movie trailers
The title for this post seems fitting, seeing as how the many of the movies currently out and/or being promoted are of horrible quality/substance.
