My Story
BACKGROUND STORY
Max is being cared for by excellent nurses and doctors at Florida Hospital South in Orlando. He is in the NICU. Sorry, at this time visitors are limited. Jodie is recovering well from surgery at Celebration Hospital in room 408 and is expected to be released over the weekend sometime.
Max suprised everyone by arrriving about 8 weeks earlier than we expected him. We apprectiate all your prayers for the medical issues surroundeng him at this time.
Here’s what we know; before transfering up to Florida Hospital, Max had some issues with his blood preassure and oxygen – but God took care of that hand he was able to move to the NICU mid-day Thursday. He is currently on a ventalator to help him breathe and doing better than expected already. He is also receiving medication for his blood preassure. He has a special tube in his belly giving him nourishment.
Over the next few days a team of specialists will be evaluating him for Neurological, Orthopedic, and Genetic issues. Please pray for the doctors as they work together to give Max the best care! We know God has special plans for Max. He also gave him Oscar’s hair!
Jodie, Oscar and their families appreciate you checking back here for updates. Please overwhelm them with encouragement and prayers here on this site. This will be your source for answers.

Congratulations on your tiny bundle of joy…children are absolutely one of the greatest gifts God could ever give us! Praying for Max and his mommy and daddy daily…hourly really. Holding his little hand and being able to talk to him is so special. It’s my new favorite thing to do!

I just want you to know that ATL is thinking about you three and praying for you and the rest of your family. I feel like I’ve known you guys forever and know you two can handle this and so much more. You are a great team! And now you have a third player who is a teensy little fighter and if you don’t believe it, sounds like Max will give you a roundhouse to the face! Please let us know if there is anything we can do. He is beautiful and totally has Jodie’s nose! Don’t be jealous Oscar! xoxo

I am praying for little Max and for the entire family. It is amazing to see the faith and joy you all have in the middle of such a trying and scary time. It’s an inspiration. I’m praying for God to guide the hands and minds of all the physicians and nurses, but knowing He is the Great Physician, I am praying for a miracle that will blow the socks off everyone on that staff and everyone who comes in contact with Max and the family. God bless you guys!!

Becky,
Our son, Maximillian, was only with his mother and I for 14 days, but I am sure he is doing just fine now, waiting for us in Heaven.
I don’t have any specific resources I can point you to, but the Genetic Counselor we saw at Winnie Palmer Hospital was extremely helpful with explaining medical terms and Max’s diagnosis, as well as giving us information on available community resources.
If you haven’t already seen from the rest of posts here, having family and friends and God’s word(s) nearby is extremely important. Despite not being able to be with our son right now, Jodie and I are where we are today because of the people we love and the God we serve.
Thank you for praying for our family and know that we will be praying for yours.
