It has been 7 days, 20 hours and 3 minutes since Maximillian arrived and as of right now, I think it is safe to say that neither Jodie nor I know what happens next. Though his current condition is generally stable, the MRI results, coupled with the extensive arthrogryposis and several minor but growing concerns [...]

Baby Max is being seen by and/or scheduled for consults by specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, genetics, and orthopedics … but from the discussion we had with the Neonatologist yesterday afternoon, the two main concerns are the presence of severe hydrocephalus (excessive fluid in the ventricles) and arthrogryposis (multiple joint contractures).
These are really scary terms … [...]

Maximillian Alejandro Cortez arrived at 7:48 am on Thursday April 30, 2009, weighing 4 pounds 12 ounces.

He spent 14 days in the NICU at Florida Hospital South, with his mother, father & family, before heading home to Heaven. We are all very excited to see him again.
