3 May 2009Baby Max is being seen by and/or scheduled for consults by specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, genetics, and orthopedics … but from the discussion we had with the Neonatologist yesterday afternoon, the two main concerns are the presence of severe hydrocephalus (excessive fluid in the ventricles) and arthrogryposis (multiple joint contractures). Maximillian Alejandro Cortez arrived at 7:48 am on Thursday April 30, 2009, weighing 4 pounds 12 ounces.
He spent 14 days in the NICU at Florida Hospital South, with his mother, father & family, before heading home to Heaven. We are all very excited to see him again.
