It has been 7 days, 20 hours and 3 minutes since Maximillian arrived and as of right now, I think it is safe to say that neither Jodie nor I know what happens next. Though his current condition is generally stable, the MRI results, coupled with the extensive arthrogryposis and several minor but growing concerns have really only revealed more questions than answers … some that have very finite outcomes.

But if there are at least two things we are sure of … (1) God is never-changing and (2) we made the right decision when Jodie’s doctors asked if we wanted to carry Max to term or if, based on the later ultrasounds, we wanted to seek an abortion. I fell in love with my son after only that first minute … the rest of the past 11,282 have just been extremely nice bonuses.

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.” Hebrews 11

Jodie & Oscar,

I just want you to know that you are being lifted up daily as you go on this journey. Thank you for sharing this with us. I hope that your journey of love with your child is blessed and that it shows Christ’s love to those watching. What an amazing testimony you give to the dr’s, nurses, and bystanders.

With Love and Prayers,

Oscar & Jodie~
I am just so amazed at the Holiness I see manifest in you both daily. You are such amazing and godly parents. As God continue to unfold His plan for glory in your family, you listen so attentivly and with such willing hearts for His will. I can not imaging all that you are going through mentally and physically, but it is such an honor to God that you show so transparently your spiritual journey. Your family, and especially Max, has changed so many people in ways you’ll only continue to discover throughout this lifetime and into the next.
Standing beside you,
Susie

The three of you are in our hearts and minds constantly, and know that we are with you in spirit even if we can’t be there physically. You know, kind of glowing and green like Star Wars. :) But seriously, so much love to sweet Max, and both of his amazing parents. We join you in giving Him glory for His gifts every day.

Hey, Seth and I just want you to know that we have been praying for you all as soon as we found out about Max’s early arrival. Our youth group and young adult group have also been lifting you all up! Your strength and steadfast dependence on God’s grace, wisdom and plans are very encouraging and awesome! I agree with the other comments, too…that you’re being such a great witness to all of those dr’s and nurses! We will continue to pray and check back for more updates daily! Thanks for allowing us to be part of your journey! Let us know if there’s anything more we can do to help!
