15 May 2009“Jodie and I are staying at the hospital tonight, in a ‘nesting room’ only a few feet from Max’s room. We will probably be up a good portion of the night with him and we will be here all day tomorrow … feel free to stop by and visit … we would love to see you! His RN tonight is Carla, who is doing a great job making the little guy comfortable.”
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
Maximillian Alejandro Cortez arrived at 7:48 am on Thursday April 30, 2009, weighing 4 pounds 12 ounces.
He spent 14 days in the NICU at Florida Hospital South, with his mother, father & family, before heading home to Heaven. We are all very excited to see him again.

I’m glad he got to wear his mac hat. I wish we could be there. There is so much power and influence that Max will have on the rest of your lives. You will be changed. Just remember that God can take the worst and get so much good from it. You have been blessed. Years from now, you will look back and see the blessings. I know that’s hard now but it will happen. We love you all.

My name is Dante’ Young, I don’t actually know your sweet family but I have been praying for you (known about through mutual friends) and I just wanted to tell you what an amazing inspiration you are to me (and I am sure, everyone else that reads your blog or knows you). My heart breaks for the sorrow that you both must be feeling but it sings for the strength and peace that you have found in your Christ Jesus! I will continue to pray for you both. Thank you again for opening yourselves up to all of us in your blog and sharing sweet Baby Max with us! He is a beautiful Angel!
In Christs Name,
